Waiting for Me

I’ve been sitting here waiting

waiting for me

to decide who I am

who I want to be

I’ve been lying here thinking

thinking to much

losing my sanity

losing my touch

I’ve been standing here wondering

wondering too long

pondering where did

it go wrong

I’ve been running forever

away from it all

But now I have stumbled

I’ve taken a fall

‘Cause I’ve lost my mother

my friend, my mentor

who was waiting for me

by the front door

She then trekked down the road

’cause she just couldn’t wait

fell down, hit her head

and succumbed to her fate

Still I’m waiting for me

to come back again

after losing my mother

my one true friend.

Angels and Roses

Angels and pink roses.
my two favorite things
that and the colors of butterfly wings.
And sunsets of orange
the blue ocean breeze
the warmth of a cardigan sleeve
my pillow so soft inviting a dream
Morning coffee and firstlight sunbeam
Joys of family, quiet time to pray
these are the things I enjoy everyday.
